Knox native to lead ‘clean up the clutter’ workshop

Knoxville native and nationwide organizational expert Chris McKenry will lead a Blount County Chamber of Commerce workshop focused on cleaning up clutter.

Organizing tips and simple systems to keep clutter under control will be offered in a one-time-only workshop. Called “Organizing Secrets Revealed for the Home and Office,” the special program will be presented by McKenry from 9 to 10:30 a.m. on Wed., April 22, at the Chamber.

McKenry is an award-winning organizational professional and a Knoxville native who currently resides in Los Angeles where he provides relocation management, storage design and clutter control to an exclusive clientele. He’s been featured on national television and radio shows and in magazines such as The Oprah Magazine and Women’s Day.

“The Wall Street Journal has stated that the average person spends an hour a day looking for misplaced information,” McKenry said. “If clutter wastes your time, and you find it difficult to be organized, then this workshop is for you.”

His program will teach the basic principles of getting and staying organized, how to make the most of “prime real estate,” how clutter can be conquered to give more time in a day, and how to develop systems to keep documents organized and under control. “We may not be able to control the economy, but by having our environment organized, we will regain control in our life,” McKenry said.

The cost to attend the organization workshop is $20 for Chamber members and $35 for nom-members. Seating is limited. Register online at or contact Amy Lawson at 865-273-1206 or For more information on McKenry and online organizing tips, visit
