A true old-timey Country Fair with shows and classes and the Best Pie in the Cove contest. Grounds open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Great Smoky Mountain Heritage Center in Townsend. Admission to the Blue Ribbon Country Fair is $3 per person.
Exhibits, both youth and adult, include:
• Poultry
• Vegetables, including tomatoes, peppers, okra, squash, pumpkins, watermelon, corn, potatoes and onions
• Honey
• Canning
• Cobblers, including blackberry, peach and cherry
• Pound cake
• Stack cake
• Best Pie in the Cove contest
• Metal and Woodworking projects
