Sheriff’s Office offers reward for information on Hearon

The Blount County Sheriff’s Office is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the location of Michael Edwin Hearon, who has been missing since Aug. 23.

Anyone with any information is asked to please call the Criminal Investigation Division between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. at 865-273-5001, or the 24-hour Crime Hotline at 865-273-5200. To be eligible for any reward, you must be willing to give your name and contact information.

Hearon was last seen on Aug. 23 leaving his residence on Bell Branch Road in Tallassee on an ATV. An extensive five-day for Hearon was conducted by members of the Blount County Sheriff’s Office, Great Smoky Mountain National Park rangers, Blount County Fire Department, Blount County Rescue Squad, as well as citizen volunteers. Hearon’s ATV was found on August 26, but Hearon was not located.

The Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division is actively following up on any and all leads on Hearon.
