CareMinders Home Care, the gold standard in home care services nationwide, announces the opening of their new East Tennessee facility to serve Blount County families with special care needs and family members with personal home care issues, regardless of age.
The need for “Homecare” services is on the rise as working families look for realistic options in managing the needs of aging relatives or other special situations within the family. Homecare services include such diverse non-medical services as companionship and transportation; grocery shopping and meal preparation; pet and plant care; errand services, laundry, bed making and light house keeping; respite services and prescription delivery and assistance with all daily living needs involved in and around the client’s living space.
Cheryl McKerrow RN, CareMinders’ local owner, has an extensive background in medical administration and cardiac care. According to McKerrow, “One size does not fit all in this industry. Families have to be concerned about such things as background checks, drug, alcohol and elder abuse, insurance coverage, certification and training, not to mention finding an individual who is kind and compassionate. We assume those responsibilities for the family so that that each care giver we place in a client’s home exceeds our rigorous background checks, our stringent testing standards and our excellence requirements in training and evaluation. We even provide a safety evaluation for the client’s living space at no charge and advise the family of possible concerns. We work hand-in-hand with all medical personnel with our own case management approach.”
Since each state options its own standards for home care, CareMinders Home Care mandates that each office nationwide exceeds the highest standards of care established by the most rigorous requirements of any state in the country. “That means,” said McKerrow, “that even if the State of Tennessee does not require a particular standard - but it is required in New York or Montana or any other state - all our offices must meet that standard, regardless of their geographical location.” CareMinders serves the greater Blount County area, Knox County, and the 22 counties contiguous to Knox. An on-staff Registered Nurse is available for speaking engagements on a wide variety of home care and medical topics.
