Korean War veterans will honored Friday when the Cusick Street Bridge located at the Maryville/Alcoa city limits is dedicated to the military men and women who fought in that conflict.
Leroy Rogers, a Maryville resident and Korean War veteran, as well as other Korean War vets addressed Maryville City councilmen in August about making the dedication. At the September meeting, council agreed to dedicate the bridge.
Plans are for signs to placed on both ends of the bridge declaring it the Korean War Memorial Bridge.
