Assistant District Attorney Robert Headrick changed jobs the morning of Sept. 10, and a crowd showed up at the Blount County Justice Center to watch him do it.
Headrick, accompanied by his wife, their children and a host of friends and colleagues, took the oath of office and became the judge of General Sessions Court Division IV.
“This is one of the most important things -- short of the birth of my children -- to happen in my life. I appreciate the commission’s confidence in me,” Headrick said shortly after Blount County commissioner chose him.
Headrick, a Blount County native, was an assistant Blount County district attorney prior to being chosen to fill the remaining two years of General Sessions Judge David Duggan’s term. Duggan was elevated to the Circuit Court Division II seat following the August elections.
