The Fort Loudoun Lake Association is sponsoring a Paddle for Clean Water event aimed at raising awareness of how valuable a resource Fort Loudoun Lake is.
The event happens from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 27. Participants paddle from Gov. Ned McWherter Park to Sequoyah Hills Park. The cost is $30 per person for pre-registration and $35 the day of the event. All non-motorized boats are welcome. Anyone using a boat must pre-register.
The association will provide canoes and kayaks; a shuttle from Sequoyah Hills Park to the boat ramp at Ned McWherter Park, snacks, drinks and goodie bags, a band and water quality display booths to welcome paddlers to Sequoyah Hills Park and event t-shirts.
Participants are asked to bring boats and/life vests if individuals prefer to use their own equipment; sunscreen or rain jackets and a registration fee if the participant chooses not to pre-register.
