The school is no more, but the alumni of Townsend High School still remember the glory days. An annual homecoming gives classmates a chance to catch up, get reacquainted and share their memories of their high school days.
Homecoming, held this year on Saturday, Aug. 2, was planned by a group of hard-working graduates, included alumni president Joan Webb, secretary Linda Davis and treasurer Alda Brickey. Others on the committee included Ben Davis, Willie Brickey, and Joe and Brenda Wilson.
The entertainment was a big draw this year. The Sullivans came to play. They are a very musical group of siblings who all grew up in Dry Valley, sitting on the porch singing and playing. Six of the seven siblings played for the happy reunion crowd.
