Noel Coward’s Blithe Spirit to be presented

SKIT Productions’ Adult Community Theatre (ACT) is proud to present the smash comedy hit of the London and Broadway stages, Noel Coward’s Blithe Spirit, as the third production of its inaugural season.

The classic tale centers on the tribulations of Charles Condomine (played by veteran actor Joe Jaynes, making his ACT debut) as he is haunted by the ghost of his first wife Elvira (Lindsey Lowe) who appears following a séance orchestrated by the eccentric medium, Madam Arcati (Lesli Crowe). Elvira’s appearance throws the ordered life Charles leads with his second wife (Lisa Hatmaker, following her appearance in this summer’s Crimes of the Heart) into turmoil as Elvira tries to rekindle her relationship with Charles. Also in the cast are Brenda Gaudet, Lora Pell, and Ron Morton.

This ingenious farce is scheduled for a Broadway revival in March 2009. Don’t miss your opportunity to observe Charles’ attempts to extricate himself from the “blithe spirits” in his house in a play that has been described as “hilariously funny, brilliant, clever, and about as cockeyed as a play can be.” Blithe Spirit will be presented on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 24 and 25, at 7 p.m., and again on Saturday, Nov. 1, at 7 p.m. A special matinee performance will be held on Sunday, Nov. 2, at 3 p.m. Seating is limited. Tickets are $12 for adults, and $10 for children 10 and under. For tickets or additional information, call 865-621-0216 or visit
