Students at William Blount High School and Heritage High School got the opportunity to learn more about possible career choices and colleges during career days at the two schools. William Blount gathered interested students, parents and representatives from the business and educational communities for their event on Oct. 2 in the commons of the school. Heritage combined their event with an open house for parents and students in mid-September.
On hand at both fairs were representatives from many different industries and careers, including professional, academic, armed forces, services and industry. Bonny Millard, executive director of Blount Education Initiative, was on hand for the Heritage fair and stressed the importance of exposing students to possibilities here at home in the areas they are interested in pursuing. She also said she was pleased with the responses from area industry, professionals, colleges and businesses to assist with high school career days.
