And the Winner Is?
It’s time to submit applications for the annual Blount County Chamber of Commerce Business Excellence Awards. These prestigious awards are given at the Chamber’s annual dinner, and the Chamber is encouraging everyone to fill out the application and give companies the recognition they deserve as Blount County’s best.
Existing Industry and Excellence Award Committee Chair Kristi Foxx said, “These awards allow us to recognize businesses not only for best in class practices, but to also thank them for their contributions to Blount County and its citizens.”
The categories for this year’s awards are: Business Manufacturing, Business Service, Business Retail and Non-Profit/Governmental.
“We have a diverse mix of business here and I encourage everyone to participate as we all work to continue to make Blount County a great place to live and work,” Foxx said.
The winner in each category will be recognition at the Chamber’s annual meeting in 2009, appear on an outdoor sign displaying the award to the community, a press release to the local media, and a special listing in our membership directory for the year 2009. Additionally this year, winners will receive a one-year free membership to the Blount County Chamber of Commerce.
Every year brings change to the awards, and this year is no different. This year, the awards are available to every business in Blount County. Another change for this year’s awards is that the forms are available online.
“In an effort to go green and reduce our paper usage, we felt like having the awards available online and opening them up to all Blount County businesses would also increase participation and also make it easier for companies to fill out,” said Fred Forster, President/CEO for the Blount County Chamber of Commerce.
The applications can be accessed online at: http://www.blountindustry.com/businessexcellenceapp.html. The application deadline is Oct. 31, 2008.
