Teri Brahams, Maryville, was re-elected secretary of Areawide Development Corporation at its annual meeting Tuesday, Sept. 23, at Egwani Farms Golf Club in Rockford.
Based in Alcoa, Areawide Development Corporation markets and processes U.S. Small Business Administration Section 504 loans to small
businesses in partnership with banks to help finance capital projects.
Board members set ADC policy and approve loan applications.
Brahams is executive director of Pellissippi State Technical Community College’s Business and Community Services Division in Knoxville. In this position, she oversees the Tennessee Small Business Development Center and is responsible for all of the college’s
continuing education and economic development programs.
She became a TSBDC Center Director following an extensive banking career, during which she served on numerous local and regional committees and participated in organizations and initiatives focused on fostering small business success.
She also serves as chair for the Blount County Chamber Board, chair-elect of the Leadership Blount board and is past chair of the Fairview Technology Center board.
