It’s getting down to the quick.
The Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association football playoffs reach the quarterfinal round this weekend, with four-time defending Class 2A champion Alcoa (11-1) hosting Loudon (8-4) on Friday at Goddard Field in a rematch of the Region 2-2A championship game three weeks ago.
Maryville’s four-time defending 4A champion Rebels (12-0), who are riding a state-record 72-game winning streak, are on the road at Rhea County (10-2) in search of a berth in next week’s semifinals.
Both kickoffs are 7 p.m.
