Kindergarten spirit

Parents and teachers alike turned out May 13 to see kindergarten students at Mary Blount Elementary School dress up in their most patriotic outfits and carry banners showing the importance of loving their country.

Alvin Hord, director of Blount County Schools, served as grand marshal for the parade, which took place on the school grounds after lunch.

The parade was the culmination of all the youngsters had learned throughout the year regarding patriotism.
