Foothills Bank & Trust to host food drive

In honor of its one-year anniversary, Foothills Bank and Trust will host a food drive to benefit the Blount County Food Pantry.

“We want to give back to the community that has made our first year so successful,” said Mark Loudermilk, the president and CEO of Foothills Bank and Trust. “We’re truly a community bank in every sense of the word and we want to support the community that has truly helped us.”

During the week of June 2, in coordination with its first year anniversary, Foothills Bank and Trust will be gathering food and other donations to benefit the Blount County Food Pantry. Items being sought are canned goods, diapers and other baby items, as well as non-perishable items such as peanut butter, macaroni and cheese, etc.

Bring your donations to any of Foothills Bank and Trust’s three locations: Foothills Mall, 214 Keller Lane or 2340 East Lamar Alexander Parkway anytime between June 2 and 6.

Since 1983, the Blount County Food Pantry, located at 924 E. Broadway Avenue in Maryville, has been serving those stricken by poverty, whether it is a permanent or temporary situation.

The Blount County Food Pantry attempts to meet any emergency needs which come to their attention, depending on resources that are available. Community drives for food and other items are important in addressing those situations.
