Relay For Life celebrates cancer survivors

Cancer survivors are encouraged to join the hundreds of American Cancer Society teams and individuals who will celebrate winning the fight against this disease at Relay For Life on Friday, June 6, at Maryville College.

Cancer survivors will be recognized during Relay For Life’s opening ceremony with medallions. They will also receive goody bags and T-shirts, and kickoff the 12-hour event with the first walk around the track. A separate tent will be available exclusively for survivors and their caregivers with snacks and more.

Registration for survivors begins at 5 p.m. on Friday, June 6, just prior to the Relay For Life start at 6 p.m.

Relay For Life is an annual overnight community event where individuals and teams camp out, barbecue, dance and take turns walking around an illuminated track relay-style to raise funds to fight cancer. For more information, contact Marion Westerling at or 865-558-4052.
