SKIT holds auditions and announces summer programs

Southern Kids in Theatre (SKIT) is holding auditions for new members for their summer programs and productions, which will run from June 17 through August 2. They are seeking children aged 8-12 for the production “Alice in Wonderland” and 13 to adult for “A Special Broadway Revue.” Classes for ages 8-12 will be held twice weekly, on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 9 a.m. to noon. Classes for ages 13 to adult will be held on Mondays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. These will be intensive workshops for serious students with singing, acting, dancing, and lots of fun.

Audition dates are Saturdays, May 10 and 17 from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the SKIT Studio, 507 Ellis Avenue, Maryville. Please provide a photo and prepare a song (with instrumental CD). A script will be provided if necessary.

Also offered this summer is the “ShowTap” intensive for ages 11 to adult. This is a course for intensive tap dance instruction, which will be held on Wednesdays from 2 to 3:30 p.m. All programs will involve SKIT’s guest instructor, Kris Hazard, who, among a host of credits, is also a Broadway performer.
