Need financial aid to attend Pellissippi State Technical Community College, but dread filling out the paperwork? The college’s Financial Aid Office is hosting a free series of “FAFSA Help Days” to make dealing with the red tape of getting financial assistance a little less stressful.
Pellissippi State’s FAFSA Help Days are spread over the next three months: Monday, May 12, 12-6 p.m.; Tuesday, June 10, 1-6 p.m.; and Monday, July 14, 1-6 p.m.
Current and prospective students and their parents are invited to meet with the experts in the Financial Aid office, located in Room 101 of the Goins Administration Building at the Pellissippi Campus on Hardin Valley Road. Participants should bring their 2007 federal income tax return and proof of assets.
FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) is used to determine eligibility for the federal Pell Grant, Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant, Tennessee Student Assistance Award, Tennessee Lottery Scholarships, student loans, Federal Work-Study Program and more.
Currently full-time students at two-year colleges receive $1,000 per semester from the lottery scholarship alone.
Appointments are preferred. E-mail Wendy Floyd at wmfloyd@pstcc.edu. For more information, call Financial Aid at 865-694-6565.
