Mountain Folk Reunion entertains St. Patty’s Day crowd

The Barn Event Center of the Smokies was the place for Irish fun on March 15 as partiers gathered to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day at the cantilever barn.

Billed as an opportunity for a traditional Irish dinner and show, Blount County’s own Mountain Folk Reunion entertained the crowd for hours. Band members Kelley Massey, Bobby Wilson, Walker Johnson, Liz Nelson and Vern Lindsey played hit songs from the 50s, 60s, 70s and 80s.

Dinner included such traditional Irish favorites as shepherd’s pie, corned beef with mustard cream sauce, twice-cooked Irish potatoes, dressed cabbage and Irish dessert.
