The staff and congregation at New Providence Presbyterian Church got together recently for a little fun and competition. The group held a Chili Cook-off that had guests feasting on all kinds of delicious chili before awarding prizes in two divisions: Staff and Congregation.
Winning in the Staff division was Mark Curtis with “Mother-in-law Chili.” Rev. Steve Musick won second place and Rev. Emily Anderson came in third.
In the Congregation Division, Heather Tipton took home top honors for her “Too Good to Name” chili. Second place went to Shirley Metzger and third to John Clark.
The chili supper was a time for conversation and enjoying a neighbor’s kitchen creations. Estimates are that approximately 200 people came to the cook-off.
