American Legion sponsors county government day

American Legion Boys and Girls County Government Day is April 3 at the Blount County Courthouse and Justice Center. Area high school students will receive a tour of each office in the courthouse and receive information about the duties of each office. They will also tour the Justice Center. Lunch will be served by the American Legion Post 13, then the students will attend court in General Sessions Division III with Judge William Brewer presiding. He will explain courtroom procedures to the students. The activities are sponsored by the American Legion Post 13, Auxiliary Unit 13, the Veterans Affairs Office and Blount County government officials.
