TNT Gymnastics takes Charleston by storm

TNT Gymnastics attended the 19th annual Charleston Cup, held in February, along with over 1,200 athletes from 59 gyms throughout the southeast U.S. The Level 8 team consisted of Ashley Thompson, Brittany Stinnett, Lauren Kiningham, and Amy Kiningham. Ashley received the first place trophy with an all around score of 36.375. She placed second on vault with an 8.8 and first on bars with a 9.475. Brittany received third place on vault with an 8.6 and second place on bars with a 9.2.

Brianna Bonner won first place all around with a score of 36.725 as a Prep Optional 3. She placed second on vault with a 9.05, first on bars with a 9.225, third on beam with a 9.15, and second on floor with a 9.3.

Prep Op 2 gymnasts Brianna McGuffin, Reagan Wilson, Katie Snyder, Kate Hudson, and Montana Newroth won the first place team award. Brianna’s impressive all around score of 38.6 was rewarded with first place. She scored a 9.6 on vault for first place, a 9.75 on beam for first place, and a 9.775 on floor for second place. Reagan was awarded the second place trophy with an all around score of 37.925. She received second on vault with a 9.4 and third on beam with a 9.5. Katie followed closely in third place with a 37.9 all around. She placed third on vault with a 9.35 and first on bars with a 9.675. In the Senior Prep Op 2 division, Kate Hudson won first place all around with a score of 37.65. Kate placed second on vault and bars, and she placed first on beam and floor with scores of 9.05, 9.4, 9.575, and 9.625 consecutively.

The Prep Optional 1 team placed second and consisted of Sarah Caux, Claire Sundahl, Haley Tiller, and Hannah Lawson. Sarah received second place all around with a 37.65. She placed fist on vault and beam with scores of 9.4 and 9.55. Claire had an all around score of 37.375 that earned her third place. She scored a 9.775 for first on bars, 9.4 for second on beam, and 9.2 for third on floor.

TNT Gymnastics is coached by Kevin McAfee and Stephanie Delapp. The gym is located on Clydesdale Street in Maryville.
