Mitchell raises money and awareness with half marathon

Donna McCullough-Mitchell, principal broker at East Tennessee Luxury Properties, is going strong in her goal to do another half marathon with the purpose of raising money and awareness for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. The race will be April 26, in Nashville.

Mitchell’s goal is to raise $1,800. Team in Training is the world’s largest endurance sports training program. Each participant trains in honor of a local blood cancer survivor and raises funds to cure leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma, and help local patients and their families.

“I just finished a 10k (6.2 miles) yesterday and even though I am the turtle, I will make the finish line. The same is true in my fund-raising. I have raised $1,075 to date. I have a restaurant, Look Rock Bakery, donating 10 percent of all the sales of fried green tomatoes to our cause. To date we are around $225. That brings us to approximately $1300,” said Mitchell.

Look Rock Bakery and Pizzeria is located in Alcoa in the old Atlanta Bread Company.

Mitchell said, “I am not your typical runner. Running is a challenge for me and I need not only the financial support for a good cause, but also your love, prayers and encouragement. It is amazing how when one person engages others for support how much can be accomplished. I ask for your support and your donations. No donation is too small. All proceeds go to research, education and families.”
