The Foothills Fall Festival was recently honored at the International Festival and Events Associations Annual Southeast Conference with a Silver Kaleidoscope Award for Best Festival in the Southeast. The prestigious award was presented to the Foothills Fall Festival at a ceremony in Greenville, S.C.

“To win in the Best Festival category is a great honor and is a wonderful acknowledgement of the continued quality and uniqueness of our event,” said Jane Groff, event coordinator. The Maryville event placed over many events from larger areas including Pigeon Forge, Atlanta and Greenville, S.C.

City Manager Greg McClain said, “The Foothills Fall Festival has continually been recognized as a top event in the region. It has become a benchmark to which our neighboring communities and those across the southeast look as they build their own events. Each year, the support of our business sponsors and community volunteers has allowed the City of Maryville to continue to raise the bar. We are proud to have such dedicated sponsors and supporters who allow us to bring this multiple award winning event to our community.”

In addition, a Gold Kaleidoscope Award was presented to the festival in the category of “Best Brochure.” The brochure, which is the main communication piece for the festival, was designed by Graphic-FX. The event also brought home a Bronze Kaleidoscope Award for “Best Event Photograph.” Local photographer Christopher Ewing documented the event. These three categories were the only categories entered by the festival organizers.

In its ninth year, the Foothills Fall Festival, located in downtown Maryville, will be Oct. 10-12 this year. The festival offers renowned entertainment at Theater in the Park, Juried Arts and Crafts Show on Broadway, Children’s Adventure Land in the award winning Greenbelt Park and a wide variety of food vendors throughout the festival.
