Board-certified occupational medicine physician Dr. Daniel Callan has joined Blount Memorial’s active medical staff. He will see client-company patients at the Blount Memorial Occupational Health Clinic at Tellico West, located at the Tellico West Industrial Park in Vonore.
“We are very excited to have a board-certified occupational health physician at our clinic in Vonore,” said Blount Memorial Business Health director Denia Lash. “He brings to us a wealth of knowledge that will serve our clients as well as provide a resource for our professional staff.”
Callan received a bachelor’s degree in biology from Loras College in Dubuque, Ia. He received his doctor of osteopathy from the College of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery in Des Moines, Ia. and a master of public health and tropical medicine from Tulane University in New Orleans, La.
He completed an internship at Northwest General Osteopathic Hospital in Milwaukee, Wis. and a residency at the Naval Aerospace Medical Institute in Pensacola, Fla.
Callan is certified in family medicine, aerospace medicine, and occupational and environmental medicine. Prior to joining Blount Memorial he retired as a Navy captain with 32 years of military service, a veteran of foreign wars and a disabled American veteran.
