Blount residents shine at Fort Loudoun Gala

The Volunteer Princess Yacht set sail in late February for a gala evening with a good cause at its helm. The Second Annual Patron Gala for the Fort Loudoun Lake Association party drew friends of the lake and shoreline from Blount, Knox and Loudon counties to enjoy an evening of food, music and fellowship.

The new chairman of the board for the FLLA is Bob Prince. Bob and wife, Janet, live in Louisville. Tom Swicegood of Louisville, a FLLA board member, was there to see his wife, Kay, receive the Volunteer of the Year award. Among the others representing Blount County well were Steve Dixon, Gary and Lilly Stein and Dr. Ron Nutt.

The Fort Loudoun Lake Association works in all the counties and on the tributaries surrounding Fort Loudoun Lake. The Fort Loudoun Lake shoreline is 360 miles and 40 percent of that is in Blount County.
