The City of Alcoa will make no adjustments to the collection of residential solid waste, residential recyclables, or commercial / industrial solid waste for the Good Friday holiday on March 21.
Residents collected on Friday are asked to have collection cart to the curb Thursday evening or no later than 6:30 a.m. Friday morning. There will be two trucks collecting residential carts with plans to finish all routes by noon.
Brush collection normally scheduled for Thursday, March 20 and Friday, March 21, will be collected on Thursday, March 20.
The annual spring collection of leaves for the City of Alcoa will begin Monday, March 17, and will continue through Friday, March 28. Residents are asked to separate leaves from other wastes (brush, demolition debris, etc.) and place them near the street for collection. Leaves should be placed behind the street’s curb or shoulder fronting the homeowner’s property.
Residents are asked not to rake leaves into the street. For information call the Alcoa Public Works Department at 865-380-4815 or 865-380-4800. Note that bagging of leaves will not be required during this two-week period.
Leaves may be raked to the curb for vacuuming by the city’s equipment.
