Election Notice: Aug. 7 is day to vote

The Blount County Election Commission offers this update on the upcoming election.

There will be a State Primary Election, a Blount County General Election, a Friendsville City Election, and a Townsend City Election on Thursday, Aug. 7.

Qualifying deadline for candidates is at noon on Thursday, April 3.

The offices open for this election are:

• U.S. Senate

• U.S. House of Representatives

• Tennessee Senate (even numbered districts)

• Tennessee House of Representatives

• Circuit Court Judge, Division II

• Assessor of Property

• Friendsville City Commissioners

• Townsend City Commissioners
