Artistic Dance Unlimited spring show brings 300 dancers to the stage

Hollywood came to East Tennessee over the Memorial Day Weekend as Artistic Dance Unlimited presented their eighth annual Spring Performance. Approximately 300 dancers graced the stage at South Doyle High School Auditorium throughout the three shows on Friday, May 23, and Saturday, May 24. The audience watched as the dancers performed in brilliant costumes to beautiful choreography, showing off what they have learned this year.

A variety of dance disciplines were presented throughout each show including ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical and hip hop. The ADU Performance Company ended each performance with a Tribute to Hollywood blockbusters. They performed to music and portrayed legendary characters of mega movie hits such as “Flashdance,” “Saturday Night Fever” and “Grease.” Sixteen Marilyn Monroes entertained with “Diamonds Are a Girl’s Best Friend.”

The ADU Directors, Alette Chase and Ursula Margolis, shared exciting news with the audience with an update on the new 7,800 square-foot facility which will be ADU’s new home when classes begin in August.
