Gillette attains Certified Professional Building Designer designation

Jacquilla L.S. Gillette recently attained her certification as a Certified Professional Building Designer. She is one of only two women in the state of Tennessee to currently hold this professional certification and the only female CPBD east of Nashville. To qualify for the CPBD one must be recommended by at least three licensed engineering, architecture and contracting professionals, submit three sets of plans, and pass 20 hours of testing. The testing covers architectural history, structural design, construction codes, construction planning and materials, specifications and architectural graphic standards.

The CPBD is administered by the National Council of Building Designer Certification. Gillette is considered to be a residential design specialist and can also design light commercial projects up to the limits set forth by the state of Tennessee. She currently serves as the vice president of Razors Edge Engineering, Inc. She sits on the Architectural Review Board of SweetGrass Plantation gated community in Blount County and is the preferred designer for that community. She is on the recommended service provider list at Rarity Bay community in Vonore.
