RIO Revolution reaches out to area school children

Saturday, July 26, was a fun day for students around Blount County as the Helping Hands ministry of Restoration International Outreach Revolution donated school supplies and food to students and families in need.

The festive atmosphere at Heritage High School where RIO Revolution meets brought smiles to youngsters’ faces as they played. Parents and guardians then were able to pick up needed school supplies as the new school year approaches.

The event was the culmination of a fundraising offering in which 225 people in the RIO Revolution donated $25,000 during one Sunday morning service this past spring.

According to church leaders, the ministry worked by utilizing guidance counselors in local schools to find the students in need. For more information call Terry McCoy at 865-681-4232. To donate to the Helping Hands fund, send donations to RIO Revolution at P.O. Box 220, Walland, TN 37886.
