Blount County payroll manager Ginger Whitehead has been recognized on a national level by her professional organization, the American Payroll Association (APA). She won the Meritorious Service Award which honors her for her outstanding volunteer efforts on behalf of the APA.
The Meritorious Service Award acknowledges the members who have the “ability to represent the true mission of APA with their words, actions, dedication, and tireless work ethic.”
Whitehead became an active APA member in 1992 and earned her CPP in 2000. She is the past president of the East Tennessee Payroll Association and currently serves on CHAMPS and the Hotline Referral Service. She also served on the Automated Clearing House Committee. County Mayor Jerry Cunningham said, “Ginger is a valued employee and we are very proud of her accomplishments. To be recognized by one’s peers is the ultimate complement. I congratulate Ginger on this wonder recognition.”
