Reunions bring Everett High School grads together

High School is a happy memory for a group of graduates from Everett High School, so they celebrated their graduation this year -- their 55th. When the Class of 1953 gathered for their 55th class reunion in June at the Airport Hilton, there were hugs and smiles all around.

Betty Charles, with help from her friends, coordinated the reunion, which brought 63 graduates from the class to the dinner. They enjoyed reminiscing, looking at graduation photos and catching up with their former classmates.

Everett High School graduates are an active group who still like to give back to the community. All the graduating classes of the now closed school were invited to a luncheon at Heritage High School to catch up and celebrate the awarding of a $500 scholarship to a Blount County student. Caleb Williamson, a 2008 graduate of William Blount High School, was the winner of the $500 scholarship. Caleb plans to attend the University of Tennessee in the fall and major in secondary education.
