Willie Nelson, Josh Turner and Foreigner headline 2008 Foothills Fall Festival

Tickets for the entertainment portion of the City of Maryville’s Fall Festival will go on sale July 18. The entertainment line-up for the Oct. 10-12 festival was announced Sunday.

Headlining the 9th annual event will be country superstar Willie Nelson with headliners Josh Turner and Foreigner also on the bill. In addition, Jason Aldean, Billy Ray Cyrus, Jason Michael Carroll, The Road Hammers and Julianne Hough will appear.

Friday night, Oct. 10, brings legendary rock band Foreigner to the city. Foreigner’s repertoire includes the No. 1 hit “I Want to Know What Love Is” along with many top of the charts singles like “Jukebox Hero,” “Cold As Ice,” “Hot Blooded,” “Double Vision,” and many more.

Acts scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 11, include The Road Hammers, Billy Ray Cyrus, Jason Aldean and Josh Turner.

Billy Ray Cyrus has enjoyed success not only with his singing career and hits like “Some Gave All” and “Ready, Set, Don’t Go,” but also with his television and movie work. He is currently hosting the NBC reality show “Nashville Star” and filming “The Hannah Montana Movie” with his daughter Miley.

“Long Black Train” was the beginning of a string of number ones for Josh Turner. It is everyday life about which his music speaks - heartaches, happiness, fishing holes, and everything in between.

A native of Macon, Ga., Aldean already has a platinum album to his credit and this second album is already classified gold. He has had six hits in the Billboard Country Top Ten including his number one song "Why."

Willie Nelson will close the festival on Sunday, Oct. 12, preceded by Julianne Hough and Jason Michael Carroll.

Nelson has recorded more than 200 albums, winning eight Grammys, a President's Merit Award, a Grammy Legend Award and the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award. His legendary hits include “Always On My Mind,” and “On The Road Again.” Willie Nelson is celebrating his 75th birthday this year.

A triple threat as a singer, actress and dancer, Hough is already known to millions of fans as the two-time professional dance champion on ABC-TV’s top-rated “Dancing with the Stars.” Though Hough has been winning world dance titles since her early teens, her ultimate goal has always been a career in country music.

Jason Michael Carroll finds his voice in any kind of song whether it’s the poignancy of “Alyssa Lies,” the blow-up-the-weekend revelry of “Honky Tonk Friends,” or the sweeping desire of “Lookin’ at You.”

Mayor Joe Swann said, “This year’s entertainment line-up is sure to be a winner with everyone. Where can you get so many great headliner entertainers, free weekend -long activities for kids, great food and lots of fun for the entire family at such a reasonable price? I suggest that people don't wait, but buy their tickets as soon as they go on sale this year since last year’s sellout surprised many.”
