‘Tye dyed’ evening celebrates art of Fine Arts Blount members

It was an elegantly Bohemian evening when members, guests and friends of Fine Arts Blount gathered for an evening celebrating their art work, which had been submitted, juried and selected for the annual Members’ Juried Exhibition and sale. The evening, held in the main exhibition area of Preservation Plaza, was a combination of show, sale, fundraising and celebrating the winners of the juried show.

Judging artists were Mike Berry and Polly Ann Martin. First place winners were Norma Riegle, for her watercolor “Ti – King of Trees;” Karen Brackett, for her drawing “Friends and Brothers;” Susan Birdwell, for her acrylic “The Pastry Cart;” Bill Womac, for his 3-D Mixed Media “Friends, Relatives & Me;” and Doris Poppelreiter, Best of Show for her ceramic “Blue Waters of Tennessee.”

Molly Nicholson won the Fine Arts Blount Members’ Choice award, the “Fabby.”

Fine Arts Blount now has a permanent art space and home in the back of the old Library and former Red Cross building, underneath DandyLions. In addition to exhibit space, classes and summer camps are also held there. For more information about FAB, the artists in the show or the art classes, visit the website at www.FineArtsBlount.com.
