Blount Memorial physical therapists Andi Garris and Tom Schlitt have recently received doctorate of physical therapy degrees.
Garris earned a doctorate of physical therapy degree from the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. She earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Wofford College in Spartanburg, S.C., and she also has a bachelor’s degree in physical therapy and a master’s degree in health sciences from the Medical University of South Carolina.
Garris is a certified lymphedema therapist and has experience providing treatment for cancer patients with upper and lower extremity edemas. She also provides inpatient physical therapy services for the hospital.
Schlitt earned a doctorate of physical therapy degree from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis. He earned a bachelor’s degree in biology from Auburn University in Alabama and a master’s degree in physical therapy from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
Schlitt is certified as a clinical specialist in pediatric physical therapy by the American Physical Therapy Association. He works in pediatrics at the Blount Memorial Outpatient Rehabilitation Center at Springbrook.
