The Heritage High School bowling team has a lot to build on for next season.

Two sophomores, Tracy Berna and Breanna Endsley, and a freshman, Endsley’s sister, Brittney, turned in a strong showing at the Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association State Bowling Championships in Smyrna on Monday.

Berna placed best amongst the Lady Mountaineer trio, posting a 163.75 scoring average over four games in the quarterfinal round. Berna missed the semifinal cutoff by 12 pins. Breanna Endsley was not far back, closing with a 162 average to finish 31st. Brittney Endsley rolled a 146 average in her state debut, good enough for 52nd in a 67-player field.
