It’s a tradition in the support classes for Blount Memorial Hospital’s Weight Management Center program that patients sometimes get to do a little showing off.
The classes are a combination of sharing information about goals and dreams, comparing notes on ups and downs, and getting informed advice on what to expect before and after surgery.
And sometimes, it’s just a good time to talk and encourage others who are walking the same road to better health. Part of that encouragement is enjoying the “before” and “after” in the form of a fashion show.
At the fashion presentation, men and women who have been through the bariatric program are encouraged to model a favorite outfit from “today” and something from “yesterday,” when the dress, shirt and pant sizes were much larger. It’s a fun night for participants and models alike.
