Free cervical cancer screening day offered at Health Department

A free cervical cancer screening day is being offered on Friday, Jan. 11, at Blount County Health Department.

In recognition of Cervical Cancer Awareness Month in January 2008, the Blount County Health Department, in conjunction with PathNet Laboratories, is offering a day of free pap smears. To qualify for this service, a woman needs to be 21 years of age or older and NOT had a pap smear in three years.

The Free Cervical Cancer Screening Day will be offered on Friday, Jan. 11, 2008.

Cervical cancer is one of the most common causes of cancer death among American women. Early detection is the best protection.
