New classes begin for children, teens, adults at Parks & Rec

Parks & Rec is offering gymnastics and ballet classes to preschool children, beginning Jan. 10.

Classes are on Thursday evenings or Friday mornings and run for eight week sessions. Classes will be at Everett Recreation Center.

Also beginning next week are tumbling classes for ages 5 to 12 (5 year olds must be in school). The classes begin Jan. 12 and are held on Saturdays at 10 a.m. for beginners and 11 a.m. for advanced students. Classes run for eight weeks at Everett Recreation Center.

For teens and adults, Parks & Rec is offering a racquet strength class for tennis players. Open to ages 13 to 18 and for adult women, the classes begin Wednesday, Jan. 9, for a four week session at Everett Recreation Center.

This small group training will specifically condition each fitness component to meet the physical demands of tennis. Focus will be on strength, power, agility, flexibility, quickness, stamina and core strength.

Adult women classes are 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Youth classes are 4:15 to 5 p.m.
