The Townsend Love Affair Weekend, in its second year, is designed to be a gift to the Blount County community and visitors. And the gift this year was crafted to appeal to any who could enjoy Appalachian fun, programs and music.
Presented by the Townsend Business Association, the weekend of Feb. 15-17 featured such classes and presentations as Mead Making, Arrowhead History, hikes, fly-tying, storytelling, barbecue and fine dining and music, music, music. Blue Moon Rising played at the Valley View Hotel, there was singing and dulcimer music at Heartland Little River Wedding Chapel and a toe-tapping, do-si-do Barn Dance at The Barn Event Center.
The weekend featured overnight packages for those who wanted to come and stay and a smorgasbord of presentations spread out from Miss Lily’s Banquet Hall, the Heritage Center, The Barn Event Center, Little River Outfitters, Mountain Sage Gallery, Little River Railroad Museum, Heartland Little River Wedding Chapel, Valley View Hotel and Highland Manor.
