THDA and Habitat partner in $500,000 housing project

Habitat for Humanity of Tennessee has received a $500,000 grant from the Tennessee Housing Development Agency towards construction of 20 Habitat for Humanity homes across Tennessee through the Homes for Tennessee Initiative.

At least one Habitat for Humanity home will be built in Blount County with funds from this grant.

In the Homes for Tennessee initiative, 20 Habitat for Humanity homes will be built by the end of 2008 - four in major metro areas (Chattanooga, Knoxville, Memphis, and Nashville) with the remaining 16 being built in smaller cities or rural areas served by Habitat for Humanity affiliates, such as Habitat for Humanity in Blount County., Anderson, Campbell, Cleveland, Hawkins, Highland Rim, Houston, Jackson, Loudon, McMinn, Putnam, Rutherford, Tipton, Warrebm Weakley and Williamson.
