Maryville College’s 2008 Summer Institute schedule of courses has been announced, and registration is now open to college students or other adults who want to explore new fields of study.
The Summer Institute spans five sessions. Classes in sessions one, three and five begin May 27. Classes in session two begin June 17, and classes in session four begin July 11. Sessions last between three and 11 weeks. Instructors are Maryville College’s full-time faculty members.
Approximately 30, for-credit courses are offered through the Summer Institute, although students may sign up for audit. Classes range from art to history, economics to world culture, education to psychology, literature to outdoor recreation. Elementary Spanish is offered, as well as precalculus and introductory and inferential statistics. Specific course titles include Abnormal Psychology, International Politics, Children’s Literature and Educational Technology.
