A Maryville man was indicted Feb. 4 on first-degree murder charged in the death of Kenneth Ray Hurst Sr..
Gary Lee Collins, 21, Ridge Road, Maryville, was being held at the Blount County Correctional Facility on bonds totaling $1,050,000 pending a hearing in Blount County Circuit Court on Feb. 8. The Blount County Grand Jury indicted Collins Feb. 4 on first degree murder during the commission of a burglary, robbery, and theft. He was also indicted on one count of especially aggravated burglary, one count of especially aggravated robbery, and theft over $1,000.
Additional details of the case cannot be released due to the ongoing investigation.
Hurst, Sr. 63, Callahan Road, Louisville, was found dead in his residence on Callahan Road on Jan. 27. An autopsy revealed that Hurst died as a result of multiple gunshot wounds.
