SKIT gives public a visit from Scrooge

Scrooge came to town recently, thanks to the talents and hard work of the director, players and support staff at Southern Kids in Theater.

SKIT’s production of the musical “A Christmas Carol” was on Dec. 6 and 7. While SKIT is based on Ellis Avenue in Maryville, the production occurred at the Clayton Performing Arts Center at the Hardin Valley campus of Pellissippi State Technical Community College.

Director Debra Lonsdale’s message to patrons of the play reminded fans of why the Charles Dickens’ play has remained a favorite. “Today, all of us will experience a tradition that will leave us feeling the spirit of Christmas in our hearts,” she said in a letter published in the production program. “This Broadway Musical Production has delighted the hearts of audiences every year in Madison Square Gardens in New York City. I am honored to be directing this wonderful musical.”

Sponsors for the production include: (Brent R. Coyle, M.D.), Blue Sky Construction, Liza Moz Studio at West Town, Twin Valley Ranch Bed, Breakfast and Horse Ranch, Right Sound Mobile DJ, Sandberg Foot Health Center, P.C.
