‘Crafty’ day celebrates season at First Maryville UMC

First Maryville United Methodist Church held its “Christmas Fun Night” from 5 to 7 on Dec. 7 for more than 300 people from the church and community.

Volunteers made soup, chili and finger-foods for the guests. The church’s Asbury Hall was filled with dozens of craft stations for both children and adults to exercise their creativity.

Projects included manger scenes, advent wreaths and Crismon ornaments. Children also stuffed “prayer bears” to send to an orphanage in Africa, and families dressed up to pose for a Nativity scene picture booth. Church members brought Nativity sets to display, many of which came from around the world.

First Maryville United Methodist has held Christmas Fun Nights for more than 20 years. For more information about activities at First Maryville United Methodist Church, call 865-982-1273.
