APD investigate shooting death of 68-year-old man

Alcoa police are investigating the shooting death of a 68-year-old man whose body was found in a field Saturday evening, Dec. 20.

At approximately 7:53 p.m., Alcoa Police officers responded to a call of a deceased person on Sam Houston School Road. Family friends of Dwaine L. The body was taken to UT Medical Center where an autopsy was performed. “While we know it was a gunshot wound, as far the manner - whether it was accidental, suicide, homicide or natural - we are still investigating,” detective Kris Sanders said.

Anyone with information concerning this case is asked to contact the Alcoa Police Department at 380-4964 or the 24-hour Crime Hotline at 380-4715.
