Blount County Democrats throw inauguration bash

For people who want to attend President-elect Barack Obama’s inauguration but can’t afford the trip to Washington D.C., a group of residents are bringing the ball to Blount County.

The Blount County Democratic Party is sponsoring an Inauguration Gala from 7 to 11 p.m. Jan. 20 at the Airport Hilton. The gala will feature a live band, heavy hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar. Attire is eveningwear, tux optional.

Tickets are $35 each with a limited number available. There will be no reserved seating, all are first come, first served. Tickets can be ordered online at blountdeminsaug_gala@yahoo.com or by calling 865-970-7827.
