It felt like December for the Maryville Alcoa Blount County Parks and Recreation Springbrook Splendor on Monday evening, Dec. 1. The cold air, however, didn’t keep the warm spirits from finding their way throughout the celebration as residents and guests gathered to celebrate the annual tree lighting ceremony. Chorale students from Alcoa High School entertained with seasonal music. An Alcoa fire truck got Santa to the scene in record time, making sure he had time to visit with his guests, pose for pictures and sneak a sip of hot chocolate! Children of all ages enjoyed refreshments and festivities. A part of Hometown Christmas, Springbrook Splendor is organized by Parks and Recreation and sponsored by Blount Today.
