It seems more right to close out 2008 with a little brevity than retrospective. The year ending has been fast-paced, worry-filled and heavy-laden. The heart of the home needs a little fun for December 2008, so whip up a batch of Golden North Pole Nuggets -- good for reindeer and humans alike.
Golden North Pole Nuggets
1 (10 ounce) package peanut
butter morsels
2 tbls shortening
1.5 cups thin pretzel sticks
1 (6 ounce) package plain fish-shaped crackers
Combine peanut butter morsels and shortening in a large glass bowl; microwave on high 2.5 minutes, stirring once. Gently stir in pretzel sticks and crackers.
Drop by tablespoonfuls onto wax paper. Let stand 30 minutes or until firm. Yeild: 2 dozen.
